Hello! My name is Megan and I run the blog MEG-COLLECTIONS. This blog is my excuse to discover music beyond my local bubble. I spend the rest of my time studying music and creative writing at Simon Fraser University in Canada. Between running a blog, writing a novel, and making an album, it’s a miracle I have time to sleep, eat, and breathe. Sometimes I even knit.
The blog is split into two categories:
- Kpop album reviews — I have this bad habit of only listening to lead singles rather than entire albums. I want to know what other songs I’m missing out on. That is why my album reviews are called B-Side Quests. I also used to write articles about one song at a time, but it got repetitive after a while. With albums, I find it more interesting to write about what resonates with me and what doesn’t.
- Eurovision Song Contest — Between March and May, when the contest is in full swing, I like to review each song, choose my favourites and watch the contest go down live. In the off-season, I check out new releases from the artists that impressed me the most. Oh, and I get to brag that I follow a Bulgarian pop star on Instagram.
One thing that I can assure you of is that I’m here for the music. Not the dancing, the music video, or the drama. This is the place where I can nerd out about key changes and clever lyrics. And it can be your place, too.
If you still want to know more about me, I post life updates occasionally.
